Metabolic Measure
Do Metabolism Supplements Work?
“Metabolism support” is a broad marketing category, not one standardized clinical effect.
Different ingredients are studied for different outcomes, and effects—when found—may be small, population-specific or unrelated to meaningful long-term weight loss. A finished supplement should not be assumed effective merely because it contains ingredients commonly marketed around metabolism.
NIH's Office of Dietary Supplements summarizes evidence for common weight-loss supplement ingredients and repeatedly notes limitations in the evidence base.
